At our Pack meeting this Sunday, we will be learning about the core values of Citizenship, playing a game that includes voting, and honoring our active and retired servicemen and women.  If you are or have been in any of our armed services, and would care to tell a brief story about your service, please mail Matt Domsch (cubmaster@pack2austin.com).

Campout moved, Doss H'Owl Thank-you

Posted on Oct 31 2013 - 3:03pm

Due to flooding at McKinney Falls State Park, we are moving our campout this weekend to Camp Mabry.  They can also accommodate all families who want to camp.  Please sign up on the website again under the Camp Mabry overnight or day trip events so we can get an accurate headcount.  Thank you to commitee members Michael Helmbrecht and Doug O'Connell for scrambling to find us a suitable site on short notice!  Dens should be prepared with a skit for the Saturday night campfire (bring your ideas, and practice before dinner).  Saturday night's dinner is a Thanksgiving pot-luck - signup to bring something at http://domsch.com/l/potluck2013.  Sunday breakfast will be cooked by grade level.

The Doss H'Owl committee asked me to pass on their thanks for the tremendous turnout we had on hand for cleanup following the H'Owl last weekend.  At least 50 Scouts, Akelas, and siblings joined in the cleanup effort.  Many hands make for short work, the place looked great afterwards, and we were done in 30-45 minutes.  Thank you!

Service Project - Cleanup after the Doss H'Owl

Posted on Oct 23 2013 - 10:26pm

One of Pack 2's annual service projects is to help clean up the mess left behind at the end of the Doss H'Owl. After you've had a chance to play the games, win some cakes and candy, and crack a few confetti eggs, join us for 30 minutes starting at 5pm on the Doss covered blacktop.  With enough help, cleanup will go very quickly.

October Pack Meeting - Flying Robots (oh my!)

Posted on Oct 16 2013 - 2:57pm

Please join Pack 2 in welcoming Lt. Col. Ed Tovar, USMC, Ret. and John Buell, Austin Police Department, as they present the current state of robots and unmanned aerial vehicles for Pack 2.  Both are actively involved in the Austin robotics scene and look forward to showing off some of the latest and greatest robotic technology.
